I don’t believe a custom guitar should begin with a long list of boxes to tick.
At Earthly Guitars, every custom build starts with a conversation. We talk about what you play, what you want from the instrument, the sounds you have in mind and, of course, how you want the guitar to look and feel.
You can start with one of my existing models — Terrasonic, Zephyr or Echo — and shape it around your preferences, or simply get in touch with an idea and we can develop it together.
You don’t need to have every detail figured out. Some of the main things we’ll usually discuss are:
Woods
Finish
Pickups and electronics
Binding and visual details
Neck and fret preferences
Once the direction is clear, I’ll prepare a complete build sheet covering the specifications, final price and payment details. This becomes the reference for the instrument throughout the build.
My approach is to combine vintage character and response with the precision, reliability and playability of a modern handmade instrument. Every guitar is built individually in my workshop, and I prefer to keep each build personal rather than treating custom orders as a list of upgrades.
Prices start at $2,999 for a base specification. The same attention to tone, feel and playability goes into every Earthly guitar, regardless of how simple or highly optioned the build may be.
A 25% deposit is required to confirm the order and secure your place in the build schedule. The remaining balance is divided into three further 25% installments, spread throughout the build process. The current lead time for a custom build is approximately 18 months.
